It brings great joy and pride to see our former St Sylvester’s players thriving and making their mark internationally. This summer, two remarkable achievements caught the attention of the GAA community overseas, highlighted by the performances of our men in London and Toronto.

Fulham Irish Victory in London

Congratulations to the Fulham Irish football team who triumphed as champions of the Keltic Traffic Management Division 1 Football in London, defeating North London Shamrocks with a score line of 1-17 to 1-12. Among the victorious team were familiar faces from St Sylvester’s Dan Brennan and Jamie Kennedy—who brought their skill, spirit, and experience to the pitch, helping secure the prestigious trophy. The Fulham Irish captain Niall O’Leary accepted the trophy from London GAA chairperson Tony O'Halloran, marking a proud moment not only for the club but also for our community back home who have followed their journey keenly.

Mikey Dowling Shines in Toronto

Across the Atlantic, Mikey Dowling, a former player from St Sylvester's, is making waves as part of the Toronto Senior Champions. Mikey’s team decisively beat St Pats with a strong performance of 3-12 to 0-11, clinching the Toronto Senior Championship. Michael Dowling, a proud dad, has been effusive in his pride and admiration watching Mikey play with such determination and excellence. This victory is a shining testament to the dedication and talent cultivated at St Sylvester’s and nurtured strong even when far from home.

These achievements are a heartfelt reminder of the lasting impact our club has on its players—wherever in the world they may go. The commitment, skill, and love of the game nurtured here continue to bear fruit and bring honor abroad. Our former players uphold the St Sylvester’s spirit with every match they play, and their successes are a shared source of pride for all connected to the club.

Well done to all our men overseas—may your passion continue to inspire and your victories keep coming. If you have a story or update about our players abroad, please share them to stsylvesterspro@gmail.com.
