Our 5-Year Strategic Plan – Now in Action

In mid-2025, St Sylvester’s launched its first-ever 5-Year Strategic Plan — a bold and united roadmap for the future of our club.

Now, seven months in, the plan is well underway — and we’re already seeing strong momentum across all areas. From Games Development to Facility upgrades, Fundraising to Community engagement, our club is stepping confidently into the future.

This is not just a plan. It’s a shared commitment — from players and coaches to parents, volunteers, mentors and supporters. 

Together, we’re shaping the next chapter of Syls.

What Is the Strategic Plan?

The plan outlines clear priorities across four pillars of club life:

  • Finance & Governance
  • Games Development
  • Broomfield Development
  • ⁠Community and Culture

It's focused on real action, improving how we train, play, support, and grow — while staying rooted in our values of unity, enjoyment, excellence, respect, and friendship.

A Plan Already Taking Shape

Since launch, we’ve already taken major steps, including the appointment of our first-ever Director of Sport, with two main focus areas:

  1. Coach The Coaches
  2. Athletic Development of Players

The Four Strategic Pillars

The Executive has also updated its structures and processes to ensure each meeting directly tracks progress across all four pillars.

  • Finance & Governance – Fundraising campaigns, donor engagement, compliance and club sustainability
  • Games Development – Coaching pathways, player development frameworks, and mentor support
  • Broomfield Development – Pitch enhancements, infrastructure improvements, and long-term facility planning
  • Community & Culture – Volunteer engagement, Irish language promotion, member feedback and club values

Strategic Milestones So Far

  • Appointment of Director of Sport
  • 5-Year Plan launch event and hardcopy distribution
  • Re-organisation of Executive
  • Commencement of 3-pitch development in Broomfield
