There was no fairytale ending for our senior hurlers in Parnell Park on Sunday, as Syls came up against a superb Commercials side in the Dublin Premier Intermediate Hurling Final. A blistering first half from the Rathcoole men left a mountain to climb, but despite going down to 14 men, our lads battled bravely and showed real heart to keep fighting until the very end. ππ
While the result didnβt fall our way, the club is immensely proud of this group β their commitment, spirit and journey to the final have been outstanding. This team has given us brilliant moments this season and plenty to look forward to in 2026. π΅π’
Meanwhile, our Minor A Footballers booked their place in the Championship Final after a thrilling 0-19 to 0-16 extra-time win earlier today. In a point-for-point battle, Syls came agonisingly close to sealing it in normal time - a tight-angled effort drifting just wide at the death - but brilliant teamwork and composure saw this talented group get over the line. They now face Na Fianna in the final in two weeksβ time.ππ΅π’
There was also plenty of drama up on the cliffs in Balbriggan, where our Minor B Footballers produced a gutsy comeback to beat OβDwyers. Leading 1-5 to 0-7 at half-time, Syls were rocked in the third quarter and trailed by six, but a storming final 15 minutes saw them hit 2-3 to seal a 3-10 to 1-13 win.
Roll on the two championship finals πͺππ΅π’
