  • Syls WhatsApp Channels are one way updates from the club. Only Syls can post, there is no chat, and your phone number is not visible to anyone else.

  How are they different to WhatsApp Groups❓

  • Channels are for official club updates only. Groups remain for team chat, logistics and discussion.

  Which Syls WhatsApp Channels are available❓
  Follow only the channels that interest you:

  • Inside Syls – Noticeboard ↗
    The main hub for all club-wide news, updates and information, and the one channel every member should follow. It brings together key notices, events, links to Syls emails and social posts, pitch and weather updates, facilities news, fundraising activity, inter county fixtures and tickets, and representative player updates.
  • Inside Syls – Juvenile Section ↗
    Juvenile and Academy updates for parents and coaches, including camps, Mini All Irelands, and other news.
  • Inside Syls – Match Tracker ↗
    Updates on senior games, Féile and other key fixtures, with links to fixtures and results.
  • Inside Syls – Club Coaching ↗
    Coaching calendar, courses, events and updates for mentors and coaches.

  How do I follow a Channel❓

  • Tap the any channel link shared by the club. You can follow or unfollow at any time. Click the 4 x titles above to open them in WhatsApp now.

  Where do I find Channels in WhatsApp❓

  • Open WhatsApp and tap Updates, then scroll to Channels. All Syls channels you follow will appear there.

  ---

  Can I control notifications❓

  • Yes. Each channel has its own bell icon. You can turn notifications on or off without unfollowing.

  ---

  Can I add a Channel shortcut to my home screen❓ 

  • Android: Yes. Open the channel, tap the three dots and choose Add shortcut to Home screen.
  • iPhone: Apple does not allow shortcuts to individual channels. The quickest way is to keep WhatsApp on your home screen and access channels under Updates.

  Do I have to follow all channels❓

  • No. Follow only the channels that are relevant to you. This keeps updates useful and avoids overload.

  How does this fit with ClubZap and email❓

  • Email is where the main club wide update is shared and published online.
  • WhatsApp Channels are for quick, important updates.
  • ClubZap remains the main platform for team groups, training schedules, match management, fixtures, results and key links.
