St Sylvesters AHL6 Team V Fingallians 26th March 2023

On Sunday the 26^th, the Sylvesters AHL6 Team played Fingallians in our second game of the season

This followed a narrow defeat in their first game against Clontarf.

Syls started well with a bullet of a goal in the top corner by Niall McCarthy set up by David King

David, Niall, Gavin Hydes at midfield were all showing really well, and the team built up a seven point lead

Fingallians had a purple patch for the last 10 minutes, and scored a good goal, but we rallied with a Tom Hogan goal to lead by five at HT  - 2.9 to 1.7

The lads started well in the second half but Fingallians had introduced three strong HT subs and fought back

Eoin Kennedy, Kieran O’Donnell and Kieran Falvey all stood out during this period

With five minutes to go, Shane McSherra scored a third goal as the lads closed out a 3.15 to 1.15 hard-earned win

Special thanks to Liam Foley who at short notice stepped into goals and did very well  - Best of luck to Anto and his partner on their imminent arrival

Beards Barber are sponsoring a MOTM award across various teams this year, this was AHL6’s turn and David King took the award with an excellent game scoring a lot of frees he won himself and setting up other scores
