RIP Eddie Sullivan - Esteemed Former Chairman
January 18, 2023
It is with great sadness that we heard of the passing of our former Chairman Eddie Sullivan earlier this week. St Sylvester GAA club offers deepest condolences to the Sullivan family at this time.
Eddie took over the position of Chairperson back in 2009 at a time when the club was experiencing a severe financial crisis. He used his vast experience in Public Service and consummate professionalism to pull together a team to resolve the many challenges facing the club at that time.
His positive and engaging manner shone through in his dealings within the club and the broader GAA community.
The importance of his contribution to St Sylvester’s GAA during his tenure cannot be overstated – it is a huge testament to him that the Club Constitution was amended to persuade him to serve a term of 5 years.
He was always available to advise and support those who followed in his footsteps. At subsequent AGMs he was always there to thank and lend his support to the next generation of leaders.
We have lost a great friend and supporter.
We offer deepest sympathy to his wife Frances, children Niamh, Sinead and Éamonn at this sad time.
