The first weekend of matches for St Sylvesters teams brought plenty of excitement, strong performances, and a great sense of club spirit as our players got back into competitive action.

The 2017 boys may not have had a match, but they were out in force for a fun run to raise funds for the season ahead. A brilliant way to kick-start their year with energy and enthusiasm!

The 2014 boys were in action both at home in Bridgefield and away in Lucan, battling through horrible conditions against Lucan Sarsfields. Across five teams, the boys put in five outstanding performances, showing great heart and determination. As one of the coaches put it, today was all about #characterbuilding!

The 2013 boys made their debut in grading games with a trip to Cuala and didn’t disappoint. Playing some impressive Heads Up Football, the lads looked sharp and composed, easing their way to a comfortable result—an encouraging first outing.

The 2012 boys (T2) set the tone for the day with a good grading game win over Man O’War in Bridgefield. A solid start to the season as the team begins their journey for the year ahead.

In Raheny, the 2011 boys (T1) had to dig deep on a tight, muddy pitch but showed real resilience. A hard-fought six-point win was the reward for their grit and determination—an ideal way to start the campaign.

Back home, the 2009 boys (T3) enjoyed a solid victory over Lucan, putting in a confident performance to get their season off to a winning start.

Meanwhile, the 2009 boys (A T1) played out a fiercely contested battle against St Pat’s of Donabate, with the game ending in a hard-fought draw. A solid effort from the lads as they kick off their season with a performance full of promise.

With great results across the board and the buzz of the new season in full swing, it’s fantastic to see our Syls teams back in action. Plenty to build on as we look ahead to the weeks to come. Well done to all players, coaches, and supporters!
