Syls secured a commanding 4-14 to 1-8 win over Erins Isle in a tough encounter. Both teams started cautiously, but a high ball from Jamie Wogan caused havoc and found the net, giving Syls a crucial boost. Not long after, Cian Whitney struck another goal, putting the lads firmly in control at halftime. Erins Isle responded with an early second-half goal, but Syls quickly hit back with two rapid-fire goals and took full control of the game. A rock-solid defensive display meant they conceded just 1-1 in the second half, sealing a fantastic win!
🔵 AHL Div 6: A tough battle saw Naomh Barrog come out on top 1-16 to 0-7—Syls fought hard but couldn’t break through.
🔵 AHL Div 10 North: A difficult day as St Finian’s (S) claimed the win 2-17 to 1-7—a learning experience for the lads.
🔵 Minor FL Div 1: Battling Syls push Boden all the way in stormy conditions!
The Minor A footballers faced a tough challenge against Ballyboden St Endas in brutal wind and rain, falling just short 2-13 to 2-10. Boden came out flying, slotting 1-7 without a single wide in the first half, but Syls hung in there. Aaron McGlynn and Evan Roche kept the scoreboard ticking, and a well-taken goal from Jack Robinson meant they trailed by just two points at halftime. Boden struck early in the second half with a quickfire goal and a flurry of scores, but Syls fought back, with Daniel Miller finishing a brilliant goal to reignite the comeback. Unfortunately, time ran out on the lads, but it was a gutsy performance in tough conditions!
🔵 Minor FL Div 3 North: A high-scoring encounter, but Thomas Ashe proved too strong, taking the win 6-15 to 4-2—plenty of positives to build on!
A weekend of big performances and fighting spirit—Syls keep pushing forward! #ShapingFutureChampions #SylsAbú #OneClubYourClub
