Minor hurlers prove resilience to triumph in both league fixtures

Great wins today by our Minor hurlers. Well done lads and to U16 support on Bs 👏💙💚 Match reports here

MHL2 Venue

Thomas Clarke Gaels 1-13 v @OfficialSylsGAA 1-15

The minor A team made hard work of beating Thomas Clarke Gaels (combination of Parnells & O’Tooles), powering ahead to 6 point lead only to let it slip twice, but ultimately each time had the wherewithal to dig in and eke out a few more scores to stay ahead to win 1-15 to 1-13 in the end. Driven by an outstanding performance from Sean Murphy at wing forward, with notable support throughout from Ollie Twomey, Joe Shannon, Eoghan Buckley, Sean O’Donnell, David McCormack & David Deneher. Next up is Erins Isle - a game which frustratingly is 5 whole weeks away but such is the scheduling at minor hurling!

MHL3 Venue: Broomfield

Syls 2-15 v St Brigids 0-7

With a good few unavailable this weekend, B team was an even mix of minors & U16’s this week and the combination worked to great effect to win on a score line of 2-15 to 0-7 against St. Brigids B team, despite being down a man from early on. At the back Cathal Rainey led the resistance, aided well by Stephen Lowe while Mick Shalloe and Seamus Carey set the tone from midfield, but star of the show was Ben Mooney in the full forward line who helped himself to a goal and few points from play. Next up Skerries A team in three weeks
