Healthy Clubs News

St Sylvester’s has been selected to participate in Phase 3 of the GAA Healthy Clubs project. Find out more and see new events planned.


The aim of the Healthy Clubs initiative is to make GAA clubs a health hub for the whole community (members and non-members).

St Sylvester’s is one of only 150 clubs nationwide participating in this project. The phase will run for approximately 18 months, it is the aim of the GAA for all clubs to become a healthy club eventually. The area’s covered under a healthy club include; Physical Activity, Mental Fitness, Healthy Eating, Community and Alcohol, Drug & Gambling EducationSt Sylvester’s healthy club committee formed in March 2017, to date several events have been organised for a variety of groups within the community. There are several more events in the pipeline for 2018 and beyond. We look forward to working with the club and the wider community in order to bring health and wellbeing to the forefront in Malahide.

This is the perfect opportunity to engage all the family in exercise. Keelan Devane will lead the activity in Broomfield.

Food for Sport/Fuel your Body Workshop on 27th May @6.00-7.30pm, Clubhouse

Maria Hughes CORU Registered Dietitian will give a talk to teenagers (13-17year olds) who want to learn about how best to fuel their body for growth and sport.
