From deep in the South to the lush green fields of the North County. The manager of St Sylvester’s, Keith Murphy, predicts drama galore. “There should be some great football in this year’s Championship. Every team has stars,” said Keith. The Malahide club are in the Senior Championship Group 2. They begin their journey against Parnell’s tomorrow night at Broomfield. “It should be a good game. We are raring to go,” says Keith.

U13 footballers win again

Under 13's division 1 game against St Jude's in Bridgefield this afternoon proved to be a one sided affair as Syls beat them 7-7 to 2-6. A fantastic display of footballing skills and team play proved to be the winner. There was great cheering and support from a rain drenched sideline. Keep up the great work lads. Anthony, Mick and Derek.

Seniors Push St. Vincent's All the Way

VdeP Cup St Sylvester's 0-17 St. Vincent's 4-10 This was an extremely well contested game with both teams not giving an inch. It was played at a real fast pace with high intensity. the sides traded scored through out the first half with all of the home teams points coming from play after some very patient build up leading to opportunities which were taken when presented to us. All the while we restricted the visitors to mostly frees.

U12 Girls Gutsy performance unable to stem Trinity Gaels

St Sylvesters v Trinity Gaels 20 Apr 2016 On a wet Friday evening the U12 girls travelled to Driminigh to take on Trinity Gaels. A sporting game ensued in improving conditions. The Sylvester girls dominated the first half with a superb defensive display providing the attack with plenty of possession. A larger and robust Trinity Gaels defense kept scoring chances to the minimum. In the final play of the half, Trinity Gaels took the lead.

Joe McDonagh and Jack Boothman pass on - Rest in Peace

Sad to hear the untimely passing of former President of the GAA, Joe McDonagh following on the recent death of another President, Jack Boothman. I had the pleasure of meeting both men in California back in the 90's, Jack, the first protestant President of the GAA with a very calm affable style. Joe was the inspirational guy who led the crowd with The Wests Awake after a stirring cúpla focal as gaeilge by Joe Connolly in 1980 All Ireland (which I also had the pleasure of attending). Great to have had these lovely men lead our Association. Rest in Peace.

Junior Bs complete a pretty good week for hurling

AHL8 St Sylvesters 0-20 Counsel Gaels 0-15 Lively entertaining game in Broomfield finished off a busy week for our hurlers. Nice mix of experience, Colm O'Connor, Fergus Rooney, Ian McCarrerty, , Billo, Declan Markey and more with Paddy Mc, Killian Haverty, Loyd giving us our fifth full team of the week where we had two minor wins, two junior wins and a loss in Inter and I'm sure we fielded over 80 hurlers in all.
