Seniors run Crokes close

AFL1 St Sylvesters 1-10 Kilmacud Crokes 1-12 A soft early goal and missed chances in the first half were our downfall in this senior league game in Broomfield. It took us a while to settle but we recovered to trail by four at the break. The second half was much better from our perspective, we mostly controlled the game, Mark Hazely gave an exhibition of free taking but all too often our attack broke down through being dispossed or errant passing and we didn't take on enough scores to get at least a draw we would have deserved.

Although we will be very disappointed to take our third loss in a row we have certainly been competitive while continueing to blood lots of young players. Karl Archibald was excellent for the third game in a row, well supported by Scrappy and Aido Lalor. MIchael Shiel was solid in goals, Jack came on for Dave Sexton and was a big influence on the game, Mark Hazely had his best game in a long while.

A lot to keep us encouraged, keep it up lads, it will come right. Great crowd at the game also.

Jack doing what he does best
