Disappointing start for Senior Footballers

AFL1 I St Sylvesters 0-13 St Vincents 4-13, We gave up two goals early on and Michael Shiels made a few great point blank saves to keep the score down. We did make chances at the other end but, while Gary and Michael were keeping the points ticking over they both missed real goal opportunities in the first half. After the break we gave up another couple of goals and again missed quite a few scorable opportunities.

U14 girls off to a flying start

Under 14 ladies had a great start to this seasons league with their first game against O'Toole's, on sunday in division 2 beating them by 12-9 to 4-2. There was great performances all round and some great scores from the forwards. It was a physical but fair battle with fantastic support.

Minors hurlers field two teams - just pipped in both

MHL2 St Sylvesters 0-12 Fingallians 2-09 A goal fives minutes into over time was unfortunate from our perspective as we had spent the wh.. A great display byole second half fighting our way to draw level only to lose out tat the death. A great display with a very understrength team against a pretty decent looking Fingallians with lots of good hurlers. For the firat time ever we fielded a second Minor hurling team but they jsut lost out by two points to Castlenock

Good news on the double for Syls ladies

Good news on the double for Syls ladies

Niamh McEvoy has been honoured with a replacement call up for the 7th TG4 All Stars tour to San Diego. She will join Sinead Aherne, who earned an All Star Award in 2014. The 2014 and 2015 teams will play an exhibition game in San Diego and this will be the highpoint of the eight day trip. Activities will include visits to local schools and a series of coaching sessions. Side Note - I really thought Niamh's display in the All Ireland Final deserved an All Star award - it was a great display of Gaelic Football from a great player.

Dublin star Noelle Healy’s work proves best medicine for final woes

I don't often grab content from other websites but this one is pretty cool. This article appeared in the Irish Examiner, Friday 26th of February - Author Jackie Cahill Dublin star Noelle Healy is serious about her football but her work at the Mater Hospital helps to keep sport in perspective. Gruelling 12-hour shifts are the norm for Healy, who qualified as a doctor last year.Sport provides a release from her hectic professional life and while defeats are hard to take, Healy knows not to linger on such losses.
