U12 Hurlers win last grading game against Lucan

The U12 hurlers had a great win against a strong Lucan Sarsfields team in Bridgefield on Saturday. This was the last grading match for the team before going into divisions. Lucan got off to a strong start with a goal in the first minute but Syls got to grips with the match with fine points from Cian Whitney and goal from Ben Grassick to leave Syls leading by a point at half time.

There was strong defending from Christian McDonnell, Elliott Lynch, Wilhelm de Klerk, Mathew Hughes, Pearse (from U11s), Sean Fitzpatrick and Robert Brady in this half.

Lucan upped the pressure in the second half and took the lead but again Syls rallied with a goal from Cillian de Burca and points from Cian Whitney to secure the win. There was some great tackling on display from players in this half including Ollie McLochlainn, Daniel Crampton, Ryan Farrell, Oran Flannery and Maurice Quinn.

A great performance all round from all of the players.
