REMINDER _ Skill acquisition session- Mick Bohan former Dubs Skill Coach & Clare Senior Manager Monday 5th Sept 6.30pm

The Coaching Advisory Group have organised a Coach the Coaches session aimed at CCC1 mentors in particular. Mick Bohan who was the former Skills Coach to the Dublin Senior Football Team and current Clare Senior Football Coach has kindly agreed to come out to us on Monday Sept 5th @6.30pm.

Location will be confirmed to you closer to the day.

We expect all CCC1 coaches to prioritise attendance  and all CCC2 mentors are also welcome.

 As Oisin McConville said "make an excuse to be there instead of an excuse not to be there."

We also hope to confirm this Friday of the Hurling Workshop which will be held in early Oct.

After  discussion Mick has outlined  the session with the underage mentors with no players involved initially. During this session Mick would outline his coaching plan that would be based in the overall theme Improving Skills. This would be delivered through

5 key areas of coaching with the emphasis being on the following;

• Better technique

• Better Language

• Modified games

• developing touch

• Better movement

Mick will tutor the coaches on the above key areas using demonstration throughout with the full involvement t of the coaches. Through this model it would provide the coaches with the necessary coaching techniques & skill sets to empower them deliver the sessions to their players going forward themselves.
