It was another great win on home turf for our senior ladies against Man O War. It was played under the new floodlights in Broomfield and many turned up on the sidelines to show support for their team. Final score 22 to 1-11.

Magnificent win of the Leinster final by the Dublin minor women's team against Kildare today. Final score 6-13 to 2-12. The team included ( pictured above) our very own Kate Sullivan and Danielle lawless. We need to really publicise how amazing this is for our club that we have two Dublin minor players ( not to mention our Dublin senior players/ captain). Also to mention the match this coming Wednesday in Broomfield at 7.15 at which both girls will be playing. Thanks Karen
I have attached all the fixtures for this coming week above, and a summary of our matches below. The U12 advanced fixtures are also included. Note: All U12 Hurling Blitz games must be completed by Sunday April 23rd at the latest , any outstanding games will be declared VOID.
“Fixtures up to Sunday May 7th are attached. Please note that, in accordance with CCC Regulation 4, all Championship matches must be played as scheduled. The 7 day rule does not apply to Championship fixtures. The home team is responsible for returning the results of games to CCC. It is essential that all results are returned on the day of games, particularly next week so that fixtures for football championships (R. 2) on weekending May 14th can be issued as early as possible”

As discussed at last night’s Exec it is imperative that all sections comply with the enactment of this new law as laid out in the letter below from DCB. As Lead Mentors please forward to all your mentors/coaches and those in regular contact with Children U18. I have highlighted the main issues involved in the letter from Aileen, CW County Officer DCB.
AFL1 st Vincents 1-20 St Sylvesters 0-10 Hard game to comment on. The first half had everything that's good in Gaelic Football, played at a fierce pace and we counted ourselves very unlucky to be 0-11 to 0-06 down at the break. Both Glen and Dylan missed wide open goal opportunities at times that would have kept us very much in the hunt while Vincents could do no wrong at the other end of the field, hitting some magnificent points. We dominated possession for quite a while in the second half but didn't get the reward on the score board and Vinnies were again very economical in their shooting. Disappointing result for sure but plenty of good displays from Gavin in particular, Scrappy, Collie, ED, Gary, Dylan, Niall won a lot of ball, Archie when he came in late.
After our third competition, the Masters Golf at the weekend, we now have 49 (out of 334 entries) with a perfect record - and 16 points - so far. Still too many to list, but we’re getting there!
Ladies section nursery coaches completed the tri triathlon in Portlaoise yesterday. For some this was their first tri and after the amazing day they had won't be their last!!"
AHL6 St Sylvesters 4-17 Naomh Fionnbarra 2-13 Good lively game in Broomfield and Syls came our with an impressive win in a well contested competitive game. Defensively we were pretty solid against a lively Finbars, David Kennedy in goal taking off a number of important saves, Derek Morris was very solid at fullback and Eoin Mc lively in covering along with Philip Ryan. Eamon McLoughney looked good up front along with Thanks to Aoife McLoughney for the pictures.
AHL3 Scoil Uí Chonaill 1-11 St Sylvesters 1-08 A poor first half put us a hole losing 1-07 to 0-03 at the break. In fact, all Scoil's scores came in the first 20 minutes, we held them tight for the remainder of the half but poor shooting and decision making did't convert our supremacy into scores. We continued to dominate after the break and slowly pegged them back with points from Sean Graham, Martin, and a nice goa; by Colm Byrne. We got back to level 1-07 a piece but Scoil finished out stronger with a few good points while we missed the couple of chances we made.
Great win for them 5-12 to 3-13 versus Clann na Gael.
Best of luck to the U14 footballers who are playing this weekend in Feile. A team in Skerries and B team in Broomfield. Enjoy the experience
It is sad to report the passing of Denis Danno Mahony, former Dublin footballer and a great supporter to St Sylvesters at the time we bought our grounds at Broomfield. The members and executive at Syls would like to express our sympathy to Denis' family and thank them for their support over the years, Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Aidan, Got word back from St.Judes this morning complementing Our Referee co-ordinator for supplying in their comments "3 Excellent Referees "for yesterday's games and singled out Luke Peyton for special praise as probably the best Go Games referees he has ever come across in his time with Go Games teams, Mick Byrne
As part of our club’s ambitions for a sports campus in Broomfield we are delighted to confirm that the new floodlights on pitch 2 are now operational. This is a vital first step in the development of a full “all-weather” facility in Broomfield and represents an investment of almost €150k. This development has been funded by a combination of grant aid from the Sports Council and the “Gala Night” fund-raising event that was held in November 2016.
St Sylvesters hosted Trinity Gaels on a glorious Saturday afternoon.
