The Under 8 Hurlers continued their development with an excellent win over Round Towers of Lusk early Saturday morning at Malahide Castle. While a bitter North wind chilled the many spectators, the youngsters showed little sign of the cold as they set about their opponents from the start.
The Executive Committee of St Sylvester’s GAA Club hereby gives notice that the Annual General Meeting of the Club will be held on Thursday 23rd April 2009 at 2 Church Road, Malahide.

Nice to welcome the All Ireland Champions to Broomfield and especially nice to repeat our win of last Autumn over Crokes to take our first points of the campaign. The first half was tepid enough, Crokes got the first two points, we slowly woke ourselves to around the middle and were probably unlucky to be only one up at the break - Beanos' point probably the pick of our effort
Syls Under 8 footballers continued their campaign with a hard earned but deserved win away to Whitehall Colmcille on Saturday. This was our 3rd win in a row with only St. Vincents in the first game of the season getting the better of us.
Good win down at Raheny will encourage the lads after recent setbacks.

Church Road was packed for the Grand Slam game from Cardiff - what a great performance by the Irish - brave, intelligent, skillful - great to win scoring tries - the Welsh were so disciplined, they only gave up 3 penalties and we never even commented.
Portumna versus Ballyhale - what a game. I'm only sorry I didn't travel to Thurles - we won't see better. How the hell can small areas produce teams like these - can we ever aspire to such a standard. And Joe Canning - even in the company of King Henry - just marvelous.

Eimer Treacy who has played with us since nursery played her first Leinster Championship U14 game in goal for Dublin V Meath. Dublin eventually won the hard fought game by 4 points - 4-16 to 6-6
Playing with a strong wind in the first half we hit 10 wides and gave away a sloppy goal. Eoin Bennis had a great effort come back off the crossbar for Damien McMahon to tab in and leave us 3 up at the break
A triumphal message last evening from the Cork Peoples Association at Malahide suggesting we show our support for their glorious hurlers. Of course we are glad to oblige and help out by spreading the word on their search for a new manager. I wonder will we get a referral fee.!
The seniors left it late to beat Maurs by two points in the Vincent de Paul Cup. Gabriel is not having much luck preparing for the new season with fully 17 players off the senior panel missing for a variety of reasons. Having said that, they still won against a decen
