Senior Ladies win over Parnells in Dublin Senior Championship

Most enjoyable performance from our perspective. At half time we were calling it the Crossbar Challenge - I think Syls hit that bar or the post four times in the first half alone and Parnells hit it twice. Syls football was just brilliant, Nicole, Louise and Niamh knitting it all together, Kate Sullivan complementing Danny and Sinead up front, Anne Clarke hitting exquisite passes, Cliodhna Hammill a commanding fullback, Watch out for the next game, well worth watching. Mick sent a great report.

Senior Ladies outstanding against Clontarf

Syl’s Ladies are a bit like the girl in the poem, “when they are good they are very very good but when they are bad they are horrid”. In the League so far, they were very very good against a good Clanna Gael side and horrid last week against an ordinary Man o War. This week, they put on their best performance so far against a really strong Clontarf, winning by 1-16 to 2-8. And this was without the injured Niamh McEvoy and Nicole Owens.

Senior Ladies struggle against Man 0’War

Syl’s Senior Ladies came off second best to Man O’War on Wednesday evening on a score line of 0-12 to 0-18. To add to their woes, Kate Sullivan had to retire early in the first half with a recurrence of an earlier injury.

Sinead Aherne top scorer in Dublin V Galway NFL game in Parnell Park

Dublin Ladies suffered their second defeat in a row in the National Football League against Galway, scoring 1-14 to Galway’s 4-11. The 2014 and 2015 teams will play an exhibition game in San Diego and this will be the highpoint of the eight day trip.
