Juvenile Hurling opening day at Bridgefield

Saturday morning was a hive of hurling activity . . . . U10 two games v Whitehall, U11 two games v St Marks, U12 smashing game v Ciarans . . . . the U8s were away and U9s at the Castle . . . . well worth dropping by on a Saturday, lend a bit of support to all the new players and managers (some not so new)

Well done to the U11 hurlers who started the year with a hard fought win over St Marks 6-04 to 4-05. Despite being short a few players it was important we got the season off to a good start as we are in the Division 1 grading leagues and face big tests against Kilmacud, Ballinteer, Cuala and Nh Mearnog. We certainly learned a lot from this game and we will need to increase the intensity in both training and games if we are to match the other teams. But well done to all on a good start to the season. ps It was great to see so many young Syls hurlers field on Saturday, at CCC1 level (U12 down) over 100 young men togged out in hurling matches for the club on Saturday morning.
