Name : Dee Roche

Born : Malahide!!

Connection to St Sylvesters : I’m a football/hurling widow to my husband Derek… Our 4 kids are all involved in teams & growing up as a kid I was on the side lines supporting my brothers Barry & Ronan Coughlan!

Why did you volunteer? : A moment of madness!

How has the training been going? : It’s been going great. My 9 year old dance teacher has been cracking the whip at home to get me in shape - not allowed embarrass her. The Crew (as Decy & Fergus have named us) have found many interesting venues to practice in, work sheds, yards & my own kitchen has transformed into a dance studio with the girls/John on a few occasions! Even my fingers are getting a work out, our what’s App group keeps me entertained ALL DAY long!!!! ;)

Describe your experience so far : Loving every minute, don’t want it to end. The best craic ever!

Who is coming along to cheer you on the big night : Family & friends (but their cameras are barred!!)

What would you say to people who wished they had volunteered : Do it, you won’t regret it!!!

Any words of advice for your dancing partner? :

Movie night, we’re watching Django,

All I can think of is the F’n Tango,

Can’t stay still I’m goin to Syls

To see if Joxer’s improved his skills,

So buck up Joxer and learn this jig

Then rock up to Strictly and win this gig.

Name : John Coughlan

Born : Dublin

Connection to St Sylvesters : Captain of the senior football team

Why did you volunteer? : Fantastic opportunity for the club to raise some much needed funds for the running costs of teams. As captain of the senior team and the fact our running costs are probably the largest I felt it was important to represent the squad.

How has the training been going? : The training has been going great, the enjoyment is there every night which is great, but you can see people really stepping up now to perfect their dances.

Describe your experience so far : It’s a great experience, sure you couldn’t go wrong learning a few moves. Always great for the night club dance offs!!

Who is coming along to cheer you on the big night : My family, fiancé aoife and her famiky and our friends. I'm sure her father will want to see how I’m shaping up for the first dance!!!

What would you say to people who wished they had volunteered : Its a great way to meet fellow members of the club that I wouldn't have really known. Its great fun also, the craic is mighty, especially the whattsapp group!!

Any words of advice for your dancing partner? : Go easy on the biscuits dee, we have a big final lift.
